Over her teaching career, Lina has taught the Arts to all elementary grades. She applied for and received ArtsSmarts grants to have a variety of professional artists work collaboratively with her on the following school projects: Multicultural School Quilt (JK-Gr.6), Fantastic Folktale Plays (JK-Gr.6) and an Anti-Bullying Hip-Hop Dance (Gr.1-Gr.4). Lina has worked with her students to put on Literature-based plays such as “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Paper Bag Princess” for the school and parent community. Lina successfully presented “A Splash of Arts!” at three Volunteer in Action School Board workshops, the E.O.C.C.C (Eastern Ontario Catholic Curriculum Cooperative) Teacher Conference in April, 2007, three O.E.C.T.A. (Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association) Summer Institutes in Toronto and Thunder Bay, as well as the Reading for the love of it conference in February 2008 and 2009.
